- Position - Construction Administrator
- Location - Voorhees, NJ
LAN Associates, Engineering Planning, Architecture Surveying, Inc., (“LAN”) is excited to be expanding our team! We are seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to join our team in Voorhees, NJ. We’re looking for a Construction Administrator with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the industry and at least 2 years of experience working on K-12 projects. This position is an opportunity to apply your knowledge and advance your career, while working with a project team in a strong, mid-sized architecture and engineering design firm. As a construction administration professional, you will provide oversight and problem-solving during the construction phase for multiple educational, commercial, municipal, and industrial projects. Those interested should be experienced and proficient with interpreting the International Building Code, NJ Edition, the NJ Uniform Construction Code, and be familiar with the requirements of the New Jersey Department of Education for the design of public schools in NJ. The candidate is expected to work closely with our staff to establish project requirements, manage project budgets, and meet project milestones.
This position requires the candidate to be part of a project team and to work individually, while having the support and resources of a large, experienced team of design professionals. You must be proficient in communicating project requirements, be experienced in managing projects, be detailed oriented, and have exceptional organizational skills. The position will require you to meet with clients, contractors, in-house staff, and consultants; necessitating strong communication skills. This opportunity affords a dynamic role, working with all disciplines of the A/E industry on an array of projects for various market segments.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering (Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, or related type degree in design or contruction.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Construction Administration or Management..
- Prior experience in the A/E Industry with exposure to K-12 and Municipal Projects.
- Prior experience in the implementation of K-12 projects permitted by the New Jersey Department of Education is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Working knowledge of contruction management software, such as Procore, Submittal Exhange, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Coordinate communication between project managers, clients, and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Liaison with client when needed.
- Visit job sites to review compliance with our drawing and specifications.
- Take photographs and write field memos to document observations.
- Attend and chair pre-contruction meetings; prepare minutes of meetings for distribution to all parties.
- Attend job site and other construction administration related meetings along with other department staff, if required.
- Log submittal and shop drawings and ensure submittals and shop drawings are reviewed by the designers in a timely manner.
- Review contractor applications for payment.
- Respond to contractor requests for information (RFI’s), and log and track RFI’s.
- Evaluate contractor generated requests for change order; work with project designer/Architect to determine if change order is acceptable and reasonably priced.
- Monitor contractor progress; issue letter of concern or delinquency notice if contactor is not performing in accordance with the contract documents.
- Perform a variety of other tasks associated with field activities and office needs.
The salary range for this role is $85,000 – $115,000 annually.
