Located near the U.S. Capitol Building and National Mall, the Washington Court Hotel is a popular destination for both tourists and locals. LAN was retained by the iconic building’s owners to design a new bar and transform the hotel’s front entrance/porte cochere, lobby, guest room corridors, and meeting spaces. The design focused on revitalizing the space by removing outdated brass accents and replacing them with sleek chrome fixtures, adding custom lighting and furnishings, modernizing colors and tile palettes, and adding eclectic art.
The new bar and lounge area are designed to welcome guests with a modern yet timeless setting. With various soft seating arrangements, the bar provides a contemporary and casual atmosphere. The relaxed environment delivers the perfect place for guests to have dinner, a cocktail, meet with a group, or watch a sporting event. Herringbone floor, steel elements, and wood columns deliver a classic ambience while accented graffiti walls created by a local artist add to the contemporary feel.
Adjacent to the lounge area and outdoor patio, a new Grab N Go restaurant, offers guests dining flexibility to accommodate fresh foods and beverages both on the go and for informal gatherings.
