LAN Associates Sr. Associate Architect Danielle Farrell was named a Zweig Group 2021 Rising Star in the AEC industry. The award recognizes architecture and engineering professionals under the age of 40 who have shown great technical ability, served in a leadership role, designed distinguished projects, and given back to their community and profession.
Every architecture firm has that go to person whose name comes up when a big contract in a certain market sector is awarded. This person has the experience, talent, vision, and leadership skills to help take a project from conceptual design to ribbon cutting. When an educational project is awarded to LAN Associates’ Goshen, NY office, that person is Danielle Farrell.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by such a distinguished group,” said Farrell when asked about her award. “I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my teammates at LAN. Architecture is a team effort at our firm, and my success would not have been possible without the contributions of my peers, mentors, and the LAN Associates’ leadership.”
Danielle’s recent work includes designing a grandstand and stadium as part of a major addition and renovation project at the high school in her hometown of Goshen, NY, where she works, lives, and where her two children are students. In 2017, in Mamaroneck, NY she changed the face of the district’s physical education program with designs that instilled school pride and provided a plethora of new options for collaborative and individual physical activity for the students and community.
“From day one it was apparent Danielle had the talent, determination, and skill to succeed as an architect,” said LAN Senior Vice President Michael J. McGovern, who runs the firm’s Goshen, NY office. “It has been great to watch her grow into a seasoned professional during her time at LAN. When Danielle is involved in a project you can always expect great things.”
The Zweig Group is an AEC industry focused research, publishing, and advisory services resource. All those honored by the organization as a 2021 rising star were featured in the August issue of their publication, Civil & Structural Engineer Magazine.
