LAN Associates, Engineering Planning, Architecture Surveying, Inc., (“LAN”) is a mid-sized multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm. We are seeking a talented drafter/designer to join our team! This position is an opportunity to develop new skills and career advancement. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Word & Excel. The candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical design and drafting tasks using prescribed methods and standard techniques. The candidate must also possess strong communication and math skills, knowledge of building codes, and be motivated to learn with a growing architectural and engineering firm. LAN Associates employs over 120 architects, engineers, surveyors, managers, environmental professionals, construction professionals and support staff in three states. The firm has more than 59 years of experience in the planning, engineering, and construction of a wide range of projects.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an Associates’ degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience is required
  • 1-3+ years of experience in drafting of low voltage power distribution systems
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit (BIM)
  • Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred
  • Possession of valid driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Electrical design will include power, lighting, fire alarm, and communications systems
  • Design tasks include applying basic electrical design formulas and codes as required for the particular task and project
  • Work with a team of technical staff to develop project deliverables ranging from design documents to technical reports
  • Assist project engineer
  • Apply design knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the discipline
  • Use CAD and Revit design software to prepare engineering and design documents including mark-ups and production tasks as directed by the Engineers
  • Provide production support
  • May perform field inspections
  • All other duties as assigned
