The position of architectural designer/draftsperson is an opportunity to develop and refine your skillset and advance your career with a strong, mid-sized architecture and engineering firm. As a Voorhees team member you will experience a smaller, more intimate office setting with a large firm support structure and will participate in the technical development of conceptuals designs through construction documents. You will be integral to all aspects of the process for commercial, educational, and municipal building projects.
This position requires the candidate to work with a design team, consultants, manufacturer representatives, and the client directly. To fulfill this role, the applicant must be proficient in both oral and written communication; be able to read and interpret construction drawings; prepare accurate detailed drawings from data obtained from field surveys; operate a computer using standard drafting software packages, plotters; develop REVIT models for architecture & engineering projects; comply with company drafting standards for construction drawings; and establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with co-workers, consultants, and clients. Applicant should be detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills. Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in the A/E Industry using Revit
- Proficiency in REVIT
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to be a team player, while also being an independent worker with minimal supervision
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and modify REVIT technical drawings for building construction projects
- Visit buildings and job sites to survey and document existing conditions
- Perform field surveys of existing facilities and prepare accurate drawings from information collected
- Assist/perform job site observations as necessary
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with coworkers, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of the building project
- Competency to prioritize effectively and adjust one’s focus to meet deadlines
- Understanding of construction administration processes or exhibit willingness to learn related responsibilities including shop drawing review, response to construction RFIs, and coordination with contractors
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
