LAN Associates on Saturday sponsored and volunteered for the “Neighborhood Spring Cleaning” at the Hunting Park Recreation Center, a local Philadelphia community.Inspired by chief organizer Donte Mills of the Mills & Edwards Law Practice in New York City and Philadelphia, a handful of LAN employees helped clean the park and the surrounding neighborhoods where Mills grew up.
“LAN Associates is pleased to partner with the City of Philadelphia, and aid in the next great metropolitan revival,” said Kim Vierhelig, Vice President of LAN Associates. “Clean and safe neighborhoods contribute to the pride of the city and generate opportunities to enhance a community like Hunting Park.”
“Growing up in Hunting Park shaped my life personally and professionally,” said Mills. “It is important to me that residents, both young and old, appreciate their community and do what they can to maintain the neighborhood’s quality of life for everyone.”
Vierheilig said that LAN’s executives and employees were inspired by Mills’ – a friend of LAN Associates – passion in giving back to his community. It is a passion that is in line with LAN’s corporate philosophy. As a company, LAN believes in creating sustainable buildings and communities that provide environments which allow occupants to reach their greatest potential. Like Mr. Mills, LAN believes in giving back and supporting the communities in which it builds.
“LAN is a compassionate company with employees that match those values,” said LAN President Kenneth H. Karle. “I’m proud that we are able to help Donte in such a noble endeavor.”
LAN urges other businesses and residents to get involved with community improvement efforts in Hunting Park. Mills can be reached at michelle@azizaworkgroup.com.
