LAN’s New York Office Expands Operations & Staffing while Remaining Committed to its Roots in the Heart of Goshen

LAN’s New York location has expanded its office space in downtown Goshen, NY, and increased its full-service capabilities by bringing additional engineering staff in-house to the location, which opened in 1999. A series of significant project wins, coupled with maintaining long-term and fruitful client partnerships, has put architecture and engineering firm, LAN Associates on a path of sustained expansion. Over the past two years, LAN has hired more than 40 new architects, engineers, and support staff across its five offices in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The success of the Goshen office has been a notable driver of LAN’s recent growth.

In the last 18 months, LAN’s Goshen office has grown its technical staff by 40% while adding new members to the architectural, construction administration, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering departments. There will be over 30 staff members working out of LAN’s Goshen office this summer. To accommodate this growth, LAN has expanded its operations to provide an additional ~1,600-sf of office space on the third floor in its current building, which was previously occupied by another tenant. LAN now occupies the entire second and third floors of 252 Main Street, Goshen, NY.

“LAN’s commitment to providing architecture and engineering services out of the New York office has spurred natural growth and expansions,” said LAN Vice President, Matthew Milnamow. “I have been working out of this office since 2004, and this is without a doubt the most exciting period of growth we have experienced.”

Goshen Team shot 2023 War Room 4

LAN’s New York office is led by Senior Vice President, Michael J. McGovern and Vice President, Matthew Milnamow. LAN Associates has been providing architecture and engineering services since 1965 and is headquartered in Midland Park, NJ. In 1999, LAN opened its New York location, and it was not long before the team made a name for itself serving now long-time clients like Goshen Central School District and Mamaroneck Union Free School District (UFSD), Orange County Department of Public Works, Advanced Coating Technologies, and Pratt & Whitney. Over the last several years, the NY office has seen a surge in industrial/manufacturing warehouse projects, recreational, hospitality, and adaptive reuse, as well as critical upgrades for local school districts.

Recent projects include an adaptive reuse project for Foster Supply Hospitality that will see three historic buildings in downtown Newburgh, NY converted into a 90,000-sf urban resort. This hotel and spa will serve as a major destination for the area, offering an ~75-key hotel with spa and gym facilities in two buildings and a destination restaurant, hospitality academy, multiple bars, and two catering halls in an adjacent event center.

Mamaroneck UFSD continues its progress on the $49M referendum passed in 2019. Major renovations are nearing completion at Mamaroneck High School, including a new culinary arts lab, STEAM lab, media center, outdoor learning spaces, and other substantial capital improvements.

LAN is also working alongside LEGOLAND New York to support its vision with ongoing capital investment upgrades and master planning for future projects at the popular new amusement park located in Goshen, NY.

Nearly all of LAN’s staff working in the Goshen office live in the local surrounding area, and they take pride in designing projects in the community where they live. They have strong ties to the community and are heavily involved with local not-for-profit organizations and mentoring local youth. LAN Associates’ Goshen, NY team is dedicated to maintaining the momentum gained in the past two years by continuing to provide the personalized attention clients expect from a local architecture and engineering firm rooted in personalized service, while expanding local service offerings and developing new market sectors.
