The Bayshore Center at Bivalve has named LAN Associates Chief Operating Officer Steven Ramiza to its Board of Directors. The Bayshore Center at Bivalve (BCB) is a non-profit organization charged with the care of New Jersey’s only environmental history museum and the home port of the 1928 Schooner AJ Meerwald, New Jersey’s official tall ship. The organization focuses on educating the public on the human impact on the aquatic environment through programming and advocacy, as well as the history behind the area being the former “oyster capital of the world.” As a member of the board, Steve will work on fulfilling the organization’s mission and purpose, as well as strengthening BCB’s programs and services.

“It’s an honor to join the Board of Directors for such a great organization – one that dedicates its work to the importance of environmental sustainability. This is something I take into consideration for every project at LAN,” said Ramiza, when asked about his appointment. “It is important to care for our environment, but more importantly, to educate others on the impacts humans have on the environment. I am excited for the opportunity to take a leading role and help make a difference.  More importantly, it’s a great organization, and I encourage everyone to come visit!”

Over the past twenty-plus years, Steve has proved an asset to LAN Associates and a staunch advocate for environmental issues. In his leadership role at LAN, Ramiza has overseen a significant increase in the number of environmental projects at the full-service architecture and engineering firm, and facilitated the growth of the company. His management and direction are vital to many of LAN’s biggest and most complex projects.

Ramiza’s work history and career-long focus on engineering and environmental issues were a deciding factor in his appointment to the role at the BCB. “Steve’s passion for our mission, along with his educational and professional background, make him an ideal board member,” said Brian Keenan, the Executive Director at the Bayshore Center.

Each year, over 7,500 people participate in activities held by BCB to educate themselves on environmental sustainability. The Bayshore Center at Bivalve is located in Port Norris, New Jersey. For more information about the organization click here.
