Matthew Webb has grown LAN’s surveying department into a vital part of LAN’s operation that both stands on its own and contributes to LAN’s larger projects.

Full service architecture and engineering firm LAN Associates is excited to announce the expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of two new company officers. Assistant Vice President Matthew Webb, who leads LAN’s Surveying team and Vernon, New Jersey office, and Assistant Vice President Ron Schwenke, who is the architect in charge of LAN’s Voorhees, New Jersey office, have both been promoted to the position of Vice President.

Over the past few years, LAN Associates has been steadily growing its core service offerings and expanding its geographic presence. Webb and Schwenke have both played a major role in that success.  On August 13th, the Board of Directors moved to have them both appointed to the V-Suite to better take advantage of their leadership abilities and business acumen. They will be working alongside the current members of the leadership team whose positions remain unchanged.

Matthew Webb has over two decades of experience in surveying. He joined LAN Associates in 2001 as a high school student, and while at the firm pursued a degree in Surveying Engineering Technology and obtained his surveying license. In 2009, Matthew became the Director of LAN’s surveying department and subsequently grew the department to service not only LAN’s internal architecture and engineering projects but a long list of direct clients, contractors, title services companies, and more. Matthew is a licensed surveyor in NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE, and ME.

“Matt plays a major role in LAN’s success, not only by establishing the basis of many of LAN’s architecture and engineering projects by providing survey plans but also by helping drive overall company growth,” said LAN President Thomas Wighard when asked about Webb’s promotion. “His natural leadership abilities, efficiencies in delivering services, and business insights have always made our surveying department a top performer. Matt is the ideal person to take a leadership role in defining the future of LAN.”

“I am humbled and honored to have been appointed to a leadership role in the management and growth of LAN’s practice,” said Webb when asked about his promotion. “LAN has been a part of my life since high school, and my experience with the company pointed me in the direction of pursuing a career in surveying. I look forward to contributing to the overall decision making of the company that has had such a big impact on my life.”

Ron Schwenke joined the LAN team in 2018 and was tasked with establishing a Southern Jersey/Philadelphia presence. After a brief but successful time running an office out of Philadelphia that was cut short by COVID-19 shutdowns, a calculated decision was made to relocate the office to Voorhees in Southern New Jersey, where Schwenke and his team have seen tremendous success. His business development and leadership skills helped the newly opened office grow its clientele to include over a dozen local school districts, several local townships, housing authorities, and a number of private clients.

“Ron is a key contributor to the firm's business development strategies, including involvement in numerous business organizations, marketing efforts, and fostering and maintaining client relationships,” said LAN CEO Ron Panicucci. “He understands the business side of the service industry and recognizes the importance of work product flow. His work has made LAN’s Voorhees location a thriving business, and in recognition of that, we welcome him as a new member of the officer team.”

“It was a proud day in my career when LAN entrusted me to establish a new presence in the Southern New Jersey/Philadelphia region. I welcomed the challenge of developing both a long list of clients and a team with the skill set to complete great work,” said Schwenke when asked about his new position. “During my time at LAN, I have come to understand the dedication and passion that LAN’s officers put into their work. I feel enamored by the confidence the Board of Directors have put in me with this promotion and look forward to both the challenges and opportunities this new position presents.”

For well over half a century, LAN has provided architecture, engineering, surveying, and environmental services in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and beyond. LAN’s history is built into the communities it serves. Matthew Webb and Ron Schwenke’s promotions to Vice President will help LAN continue to achieve this mission. Their diverse skill sets and unique backgrounds ensure they will both bring a valuable new voice to the LAN leadership team that will help LAN continue to thrive and expand.
