New Union Avenue Middle School (Don Bosco Tech)

Project Overview

In 2005 LAN was retained by the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (NJSCC), now the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (NJSDA), to perform a variety of services for the former Don Bosco Tech campus in Paterson, New Jersey.  As part the contract, LAN performed site feasibility services, environmental investigations, underground storage tank removals, soil and groundwater investigations, hazardous building materials surveys, utility investigations, boundary and topographic surveys, and prepared a Level I Environmental Assessment Report pursuant to Executive Order 215.

A $58 million construction project was later announced to replace the aging campus with a state-of-the-art middle school for the neighborhood.  As part of this project, LAN was responsible for the $7.5 million abatement and demolition of all structures, as well as civil and environmental engineering in support of the Design-Build project to construct the new Union Avenue Middle School.
