LAN congratulates Justin Provencher on completing the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam and receiving his professional engineering license.

As a team member in LAN’s Civil Engineering Department Justin represents the professionalism we strive to apply to every project, and we look forward to his contributions as a professional engineer.”
Justin graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. After school, Justin worked as a Civil Designer while he studied to pass his Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This granted him the title of Engineer-In-Training (EIT), a designation he had until he gained four years of design experience and passed the final exam and became a fully licensed engineer.
Since joining LAN in 2014, Justin has worked on numerous civil engineering projects, including the building addition and artificial turf field at Hawthorne Gospel Church, the Goshen High School addition and athletic field improvements, a new wing addition and parking lot at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Fair Lawn, and various projects at the Christian Healthcare Center.
“Like most aspiring engineers, getting licensed has been my main career goal since my first day as an undergrad,” said Provencher, when asked about his recent achievement. “Last year I spent many nights locked in my apartment studying for the PE. It was 2020, so most people were locked in their homes as well. The odd circumstances made it the perfect time to study for such a challenging test.”
Becoming a licensed professional engineer is a demanding process. An aspiring engineer needs to earn a four-year engineering degree, pass the FE exam to become an EIT and then pass the Practice of Engineering (PE) exam. Once licensed, engineers need to maintain their engineering credentials by attending seminars and completing annual continuing education courses.
LAN’s Civil Engineering Department is comprised of a diverse group of licensed professionals. The team provides site design and construction contract administration services to municipalities, commercial property managers, boards of education, and county and state agencies.
