In order to accommodate for the growth of their congregation, Faith
Assembly of God retained LAN Associates to provide architecture and
engineering design services for a new entry addition and various interior
renovations at their Church in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Originally constructed
in the 1960’s, LAN’s team carefully designed the upgrades to seamlessly
integrate with the existing Church’s historic architecture.
The goal of the project was to remodel the facade of the Church to
provide an updated, more inviting and welcoming look. The exterior
renovations consisted of remodeling the building envelope with new
windows, dormers, siding, roofing, stone, and a new entry tower addition
with a roof mounted cross.
To better cater to all parishioners and visitors, the interior renovations
include the addition of an ADA accessible restroom and nursery, as well
as the renovation of outdated worn finishes and lighting fixtures, two exit
stairways, the main entry stairway, and the replacement of a handicapped
wheelchair platform.
LAN provided a preliminary cost estimate and several schematic
design options to the Church committee for review and selection. This
collaborative design process allowed the Church to choose a design that
best fit the needs of their congregation.
