James W. Roe Swimming Pool

Project Overview

LAN served as a consultant for the James W. Roe swimming pool over several phases of pool upgrades that culminated in the total replacement of the pool with a family aquatic center. LAN’s initial services centered around renovations of the existing pool facilities including a 10,000 sf demolition. LAN performed a facility analysis and designed upgrades to include revisions to the recirculating system to increase the turnover rate, replacement of the filters and pumping equipment, upgrades to the main drain, installation of a surge tank, improvements to bonding and grounding, replacement of the gutter system, and repairs to both pool and piping leaks.

LAN later performed a study on the 50-year-old concrete pool tank, and a decision was made to replace the pool with a 16,000 sf multi-sectioned family aquatic center. LAN teamed with Water Technology, Inc. on the design of the new facilities and provided services relative to the mechanical and electrical design of the filtration equipment and circulating systems for a number of water features.
