The LAN Associates design team, students, staff, and local elected officials were all in attendance on September 7th to celebrate the grand opening of the Goshen Central School District’s new athletic facilities and building additions at Goshen High School.

The event gathered nearly 2,000 Gladiator fans to celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony and walkthrough of the high school’s new athletic facility and the 15,000 square foot building addition that LAN Associates (LAN) designed.

“The new building addition and modernized athletic facilities at Goshen High School would not have been possible without the vision and dedication of LAN Associates,” said Daniel T. Connor, Superintendent of Goshen Central School District. “Their innovative design, professionalism and meticulous attention to detail were vital for the betterment of our facilities, which will benefit our students and the entire community for many years to come.”

The new athletic field facility includes two multi-sport artificial turf fields, an 8-lane track, athletic field lighting, a video display board and a 1,500-seat grandstand. A new field house was also constructed with locker rooms, a training room, storage rooms, bathrooms and a concession stand.  A new press box was constructed above the new field house.

“This project has something for everyone,” said local Goshen resident and Architect Danielle Farrell, one of the many LAN team members who worked on the project.  “The students and community alike will have the opportunity to enjoy performances in the new auditorium, meals in the new cafeteria, innovative classes in the new STEAM center, and a new stadium to cheer on the Gladiators at a home sporting event. “

LAN Associates designs school additions LAN worked closely with the District to design a new main entrance addition that seamlessly integrates the interior circulation routes with the existing school. The aesthetic of the building addition combines a stone and metal façade with blue accents that complements the athletic facility’s branded color scheme. The 15,000 square foot addition includes administrative offices, a guidance suite, a nurse’s office, four classrooms, and a dedicated lobby.  The project also includes renovations to 20 classrooms, the cafeteria, auditorium, music suite and the conversion of the Unified Arts Department into a STEAM lab.

“This project has transformed the Goshen High School, which enables the District to improve their educational, athletics and arts programs,” said LAN Associates project lead Matthew Milnamow. “We are thankful for the opportunity to showcase our work to this community. It’s truly a blessing to live and work here in Goshen.”

The project was part of a $30 million referendum that was passed in February of 2017. Construction was completed in August, 2019, just in time for the new school year. LAN Associates are Goshen locals, with an office about a mile and a half from the school. The LAN Goshen office opened 20 years ago and houses over two dozen LAN staff.
