NJ Motor Vehicle Commission Various Projects

Project Overview

LAN has a long-term relationship with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) and has provided the organization with various architecture and engineering services for multiple projects over the span of many years. The projects included the following:

  • LAN was hired to convert an existing space located at the Randolph facility into a new road test staff room, with a separate ADA compliant entrance/vestibule and a waiting area.

  • LAN performed a feasibility study to maximize the public occupancy load at seven MVC locations.  The goal was to increase the public waiting area occupancy load without altering the existing spaces or the HVAC system. Both an egress study to ensure public safety code compliance and a cooling and heating load calculation were performed. A report with a final recommended occupancy increase was submitted to the authority having jurisdiction for approval.

  • LAN was hired to replace the existing vestibule entrance doors from a swing door to an automatic sliding door for three locations throughout the State.

  • LAN provided services such as field survey, construction documents for bidding, and construction administration for the MVC.

  • LAN completed construction documents for the installation of modular shelters at five inspection stations for the MVC.
